Overview
Information Systems at Auckland Royal Academy develops professionals who bridge the gap between technology and business, designing, implementing, and managing the information systems that enable modern organisations to operate efficiently and competitively. The programme covers systems analysis, database management, enterprise software, IT project management, cybersecurity, and digital transformation strategy, preparing graduates for careers across New Zealand's public and private sectors.
Problem-based learning projects place you in the role of business analyst or IT consultant, working with real organisational scenarios to diagnose information needs, evaluate system options, and develop implementation plans. Courses in enterprise systems — including ERP, CRM, and cloud platforms — use industry-standard software in simulated business environments, preparing you for the technology management roles that are in high demand across New Zealand's economy.
Career Opportunities
Information Systems graduates work as business analysts, systems analysts, IT project managers, enterprise architects, digital transformation consultants, and IT managers. New Zealand's digital economy — spanning government, healthcare, finance, retail, and agriculture — creates strong and sustained demand for professionals who combine technical knowledge with the business insight to deploy information systems that create real organisational value.
Program Learning Outcomes
Analyse organisational information requirements and design information system solutions that align technology capability with business strategy, user needs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Apply database design principles, systems integration techniques, and IT project management methodologies — including Agile and PRINCE2 — to plan and execute information system implementations in complex organisational environments.
