Financial Aid FAQ

Do I need to apply separately for a scholarship? +
No. Scholarship eligibility is assessed automatically as part of your programme application. The admissions team considers your academic record, region of origin, and programme when determining any awards. You may also contact admissions directly to discuss specific scholarship options for your background.
Are scholarships renewable each year? +
Yes. Merit scholarships are renewable for the duration of your programme, subject to maintaining satisfactory academic standing (typically a minimum GPA as specified in your scholarship terms). Regional awards follow the same renewal process.
Can I work part-time while studying at Auckland Royal Academy? +
Yes. International students enrolled full-time are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week during the academic semester and full-time during scheduled semester breaks under New Zealand immigration rules. Approximately 85% of ARA students reduce their costs through part-time employment in Auckland.
What happens if I cannot afford the enrolment deposit? +
Contact the international admissions office to discuss your situation. In cases of genuine financial hardship, the finance team may be able to arrange a modified deposit schedule or defer the deposit deadline. Each case is assessed individually and treated with complete confidentiality.
Are there emergency funds for enrolled students? +
Yes. Auckland Royal Academy's Student Support Fund provides emergency financial assistance to enrolled students experiencing unexpected hardship — such as illness, family emergencies, or unexpected loss of income. Applications are confidential and assessed within five working days.
